Frexit campaigner Charles-Henri Gallois predicted the end of the Euro if two key countries attempt to leave the EU or stop using the currency. During an interview with Express.co.uk, Mr Gallois insisted that together France and Italy could cause the end of the Euro. He said both countries choosing to leave the bloc would mean they no longer use the Euro.

This in turn could cause a major crisis in Brussels, according to Mr Gallois.

He said: “I think overall France and Italy are the largest economies using the Euro currency.

“I think if France or Italy leave the Euro currency, it will mean for the first time the Euro currency will vanish.

“It will be completely finished if France or Italy leave the EU, it will be the end of Euro currency.

Mr Gallois also noted the knock-on impacts this would have for the rest of the European Union.

He said: “Losing Italy and France would turn into a deeper crisis.

“I think it is a good thing, it is a good thing for the European countries, I do believe this.”

The Frexit campaigner also reflected on the negative reputation Frexiteers and Brexiteers have garnered.

He said: “People are also saying Brexiteers and Frexiteers are nationalists.

“That is not the case, we love Europe but we just hate the European Union.

“We are showing that there is a Europe that can exist free from the European Union.

“I think it is important to note that we had international cooperation before the European Union and you will have international cooperation between European countries afterwards.”

Mr Gallois also noted that if Britain makes a success of Brexit it would put pressure on the EU for the future.

He said the UK’s determination to make the best of Brexit could act as a road-map for other countries who consider leaving the European Union.

Mr Gallois claimed the EU has wanted to make it seem that leaving the European Union is a difficult task to help deter other countries from doing it.

However, he said the UK proving successful years after leaving the bloc could work to inspire other nations to do the same.
