CU Buffs football adds two commits to 2022 class – The Denver Post

Zach Courtney and Ronald Lewis were among several high school football players who spent last weekend visiting the University of Colorado.

On Monday, both decided to make CU their future home.

Courtney and Lewis both announced their verbal commitments to the Colorado football program, becoming the sixth and seventh members of the Buffaloes’ 2022 recruiting class.

Lewis, rated a three-star prospect by, is a 6-foot-1, 170-pound cornerback from Warren Easton High School in New Orleans, where he played with current running back Ashaad Clayton.

According to 247Sports, Lewis has 18 total scholarship offers, including from Oregon State, Kansas, Purdue, Virginia and Memphis.

A 6-foot-6, 248-pound tight end from Post, Texas, Courtney has a three-star rating by BYU, Fresno State, Northern Arizona, Texas State and Western Kentucky have also given Courtney scholarship offers.

CU had nine recruits on campus last weekend — the first time in more than a year that recruits have been allowed to visit schools. Due to COVID-19, the NCAA had been in a recruiting dead period from March of 2020 until last week.

CU’s 2022 class also includes safety Dylan Dixson (Pearland, Texas); defensive end Carlton Madden (Ellenwood, Ga.); quarterback Owen McCown (Rusk, Texas); cornerback Keyshon Mills (Little Elm, Texas); and running back Victor Venn (Buford, Ga.)
