Is there anything better than spending a sunny summer’s day at the British coast with fish and chips or an ice-cream?
A new study by Parkdean Resorts has found the UK’s most popular beaches by looking at the number of TikTok views for each spot.
Although Cornwall is often the UK’s top beach destination, this year’s winning beach wasn’t in the popular region.
Britons might also be surprised to learn that the country’s favourite beach is stony rather than sandy.
However, the “exceptionally clean” beach had almost 80 million views on TikTok and over 2,000 excellent reviews on Tripadvisor.
UK’s most popular beaches
- Brighton Beach
- Weymouth Beach
- Bournemouth Beach
- Carbis Bay
- Fistral Beach

Brighton Beach was crowned the UK’s most popular beach with average highs of 19 degrees in summer.
A visitor ‘Andy’ wrote on Tripadvisor: “The beaches are exceptionally clean, there are loads of cafes nearby with fairground attractions just off the beach.”
Another visitor ‘Queen_Bee’ wrote: “Just wow. You could walk around Brighton all day for a week and still find new things to do!
“All along the beachfront there are shops and places to eat, the culture is wonderful, warm and friendly.”
Weymouth Beach took second place on the list and was recently once again awarded the Blue Flag by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy.
Bournemouth Beach rounded off the top three. The two beaches are just over 45 minutes away from each other by car and could be combined in one staycation.
Carbis Bay in Cornwall landed just outside the top three and is another Blue Flag beach, perfect for relaxing this summer.
