A 10-year-old boy died Sunday after he was hit by a car while riding an electric scooter in Arvada, police said.
A driver hit the boy with a vehicle around 7:40 p.m. Saturday in the 9800 block of Candelas Parkway as the child was riding an electric scooter, Arvada police said. He died from his injuries early Sunday morning.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, Detective David Snelling said. No charges have been filed and the driver has not been arrested, he said.
“The Arvada Police Department crash team is investigating the crash to determine if any charges are applicable,” police said in a statement.
Snelling did not know who the boy was with when the crash happened.
