Prince Harry is “incredibly homesick” and dissatisfied in California after getting a taste for his former royal life when he returned to the Uk for the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations, a royal commentator has claimed.

Harry and Meghan Markle visited the UK together publicly for the first time since their acrimonious royal departure at the start of 2020, when they celebrated the Queen reaching 70 years on the throne last month.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex only attended one formal occasion, a thanksgiving service at St Paul's Cathedral and it is unclear how much engagement the couple had with other royals behind the scenes.

But, after the prince has been spotted out and about in LA playing polo with friends, royal commentator Neil Sean claimed Harry is having regrets about his royal exit.

“According to that source, Prince Harry is in fact incredibly homesick,” he told viewers on his YouTube channel.

“A very good source who knows Prince Harry well said that he’s half in and out about it. Coming back here for the Platinum Jubilee sort of reignited the former life that he knew, particularly with all the pomp and circumstance of a big royal event like the Platinum Jubilee.

“But for him also, it was the fact that there weren't very many people around him who once were very close, but are now very distant.”

The prince has been gearing up for the release of his memoir, which is expected later this year, and there are some fears that this might cause a greater rift with his brother Prince William.

Despite this, the royal commentator suggested that Harry is pining for his former life as a working royal now that he is settled in Los Angeles.

He continued: “Upon his return back to California, it wasn’t necessarily the life that he first thought that he’d enjoyed.

“We’re not quite sure of his mindset or what he’s thinking. Obviously he’s trying to get busy; there are now problems with his book, problems with Spotify, problems with Netflix.

“Obviously he’s now reflected, gone back and thought, ‘there are certain elements of that life that I do miss’.”

But, Neil acknowledged that as a father with two young children, Harry couldn’t simply leave his new role as a celebrity behind, and claimed that Meghan didn’t share the same rose-tinted spectacles about royal life.

“For Harry this is going to be incredibly difficult because his wife, the former actress Meghan Markle, has no plans to reinstate herself back here in the United Kingdom,” he added.
