Incredibly lucky dog survives after being hurled from lorry driving at 50mph

A dog brutally thrown from a moving lorry has been described as “incredibly lucky to survive”.

Bella underwent surgery to check for internal bleeding immediately after being found, but is now enjoying life with her new owners, the RSPCA said.

She was found in Yalding, Kent on January 28 this year in terrible condition – her coat knotted and flea-ridden, terrified and lost.

Vets later unearthed that she had been chucked out of the window of a lottery that is understood to have potentially been going as quickly as 50mph.

Kirsten Ormerod who was investigating the incident was “amazed” Bella had survived.

According toSky,she said: "Bella was incredibly lucky to survive after being hurled from the moving vehicle at such a high speed and vets were incredibly concerned that she may have suffered internal bleeding so performed surgery immediately."

Who it was that threw Bella from the vehicle is still a mystery, although the RSPCA continues to investigate.

Mum Gil said she found Bella on the RSPCA’s Find a Pet site. She said: "She is really happy here and is always wagging her tail.

"She can be a bit naughty and play-bites a lot, but we love her just the way she is."

The RSPCA receives more than 90,000 calls to its cruelty line per month and is campaigning to "cancel out cruelty".
