YouTuber-turned-boxer-turned-WWE star Logan Paul has bagged his first wrestling championship during a huge show in Saudi Arabia . . . but he cheated to do so.
Paul, 28, was competing in his sixth WWE match when taking on the legendary Rey Mysterio, with the luchadors United States title on the line. The battle took place on the WWE Crown Jewel premium live event (or pay per view for most of us), held at the Mohammad Abdu Arena in Saudi Arabia.
And having entered the arena in a huge sand dune buggy, Paul and Mysterio were neck and neck for the majority of the battle. This was, however, until one of Paul's entourage got involved and tried to give Paul some brass knuckles.

Mysterio's LWO stable-mate stopped that from happening and ran the random bloke off, but left the knuckles on the side of the ring apron. And as Mysterio tried to finish Paul off with the 619 move, Paul grabbed the knuckles, smacked Rey straight in the face and became the United States champion.
The win marked the first time Paul has held WWE gold, and saw him try to thank Mysterio and show appreciation for the legend after the bout, but he was having none of it, shouting “you know what you did” back at him. The arena filled with fireworks after the win, as Paul held the belt aloft to celebrate with the pro-Paul crowd, while Mysterio was left licking his wounds.
Wrestling expert Ryan Satin posted on Twitter/X: “It’s crazy to think that celebrities in wrestling used to have the lowest bar w/ people like Leno, Drew Carey, Rodman, Malone & Snooki doing stuff. Now it’s the complete opposite. Guys like Bad Bunny, Pat McAfee, Johnny Knoxville & Logan Paul have raised the bar higher than ever.”

And another commented: “Logan Paul is genuinely a natural when it comes to wrestling. He's so good.”
It is thought that the pair will have a rematch for the belt at some point in the next few months, with commentator Michael Cole hinting that it could take place at the huge stadium show in Australia, scheduled to take place in February, 2024. The show, announced in September, is scheduled to be main evented by the Elimination Chamber match, and will take place at the 70,000-seater Perth Stadium.
This hasn't, however, been confirmed to be where a rematch would take place, but given Paul's global appeal, it would not be out of the question.
