WWE icon Shawn Michaels left one British super-fan in floods of tears as grapplers paid a special tribute at an event in London.
Honey Williams, 19, was left stunned after she emerged as the true star of the show at WWE’s NXT UK television tapings in London.
The teen, despite her own personal hurdles, is arguably the brand’s biggest supporters- having never missed a taping date thus far despite a gruelling nine-hour bus trek just to make it to BT Studios, where the high-flying action is filmed.
Earlier this week, she once again had a front row seek as stars like Tyler Bate, Trent Seven and Noam Dar wowed the crowds while filming action to air on BT Sport’s NXT UK show during the coming weeks.
Come the show’s close, though, she got more than she bargained for, being presented with her own championship belt before the packed roster crowded around her at ringside to applaud her support and give thanks.
That was naturally more than enough to thrill the wrestling die-hard – but what followed seemed to top that even further as a message from HBK himself began to play.
The former multi-time world champ and Hall of Famer, who is a coach with NXT and its UK brand, said: “I just wanted to say, on behalf of myself, the WWE, and of course the NXT UK family: darling thank you so much for loving care and support over the years."
Legend Michaels, once dubbed 'Mr WrestleMania' due to his peerless performances at WWE's marquee annual show, added: "All of our best, and we love you sweetheart. Thank you so much!"
