A young man has been knifed to death at an incident in Birmingham, as police launch a murder investigation.

Neighbours say there was a "Christmas party going on" inside the property during the tragedy.

However, they claim to have heard no disturbance or altercations but only saw the blue lights of the emergency responders who swarmed the area around Roundlea Road in Bartley Green from around 11pm on Saturday night (Dec 4).

Nine police cars and one ambulance were seen at the scene at around that time.

According to Birmingham Live, police have cordoned off several homes on the street with a marked police car on the scene.

Forensics officers are at the scene, as Detective Inspector Jim Colclough, from the force’s homicide unit, said: “We are in the very early stages of our enquiry and we would like to hear from anyone who has any information about this tragic death.

“The man’s family has been informed and specialist officers will support them as our investigation continues.”
