Last month, Trump explained in more detail over how he would end Russia’s brutal war in Ukraine if he were president when asked the question during an interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo<\/p>\n
He replied: “I know Zelensky very well, I know Putin very well\u2014even better – and I had a very good relationship with both of them.”<\/p>\n
Trump said he would tell Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky: “No more, you gotta make a deal,” and would warn Putin: “If you don\u2019t make a deal, we\u2019re gonna give them a lot. We\u2019re gonna give more than they ever got.”<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the view from Orban on how the war is progressing greatly differs from how US and Ukrainian officials have characterized the invaded country\u2019s prospects for taking back Russian-occupied territory.<\/p>\n
Last week, White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said the current administration does “not assess that the conflict is a stalemate.”<\/p>\n
He told reporters in a briefing: “We continue to support Ukraine in its effort to take territory as part of this counteroffensive, and we are seeing it continue to take territory on a methodical, systematic basis.”<\/p>\n
