{"id":118446,"date":"2023-09-03T22:09:13","date_gmt":"2023-09-03T22:09:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uklevitrasupport.com\/?p=118446"},"modified":"2023-09-03T22:09:13","modified_gmt":"2023-09-03T22:09:13","slug":"toad-given-a-bullet-in-the-head-in-sick-execution-style-shooting-at-uk-lake","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uklevitrasupport.com\/world-news\/toad-given-a-bullet-in-the-head-in-sick-execution-style-shooting-at-uk-lake\/","title":{"rendered":"Toad given a &#8216;bullet in the head&#8217; in sick execution-style shooting at UK lake"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A defenceless toad was found with an airgun pellet in the middle of its head, leading to calls from the RSPCA to change the laws on owning the machinse.<\/p>\n<p>The poor dead toad was found by a small lake on the Gwyneed Hills in Wales by a family on a natural history tripe.<\/p>\n<p>Dad James Williams was out with children Chloe and Connor when he found it, leaving him feeling \u201csad and quite angry\u201d, North Wales Live reports.<\/p>\n<p><b>READ MORE: Mystery fragments deep in Pacific &apos;may be alien spacecraft&apos; or &apos;killer meteor&apos;<\/b><\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cWe always look forward to seeing the large number of toads that breed in that lake, and we go looking and netting for the tadpoles each year.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article30854098.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/0_AFRDPW300823shotToad_02.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis particular toad was just on the side of the pond, a little bit back from the edge. My boy picked it up and saw it had a bullet in its head.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And he now fears that an influx of yobs going to the area to shoot frogs \u201cfor fun\u201d is impacting on the mating season.<\/p>\n<p>The area is normally a hive of activity at this time of year, with James describing the waters as being \u201cblack\u201d due to the amount of spawn in it.<\/p>\n<p>But, he said: \u201cThey must go out into the moor, the toadlets are in their millions there.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut they were no way near as numerous this year, to be honest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As it stands, anyone caught deliberately using an airgun to injure an animal can be prosecuted under the Animal Welfare Act.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf convicted, offenders face up to five years in prison and\/or an unlimited fine.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article30854097.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/0_AFRDPW300823shotToad_03.jpg\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<figure data-mod=\"image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article30852563.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s458\/2_MBP_CHP_030923Holidaymaker-tossed-into-air-by-raging-bull-after-jumping-into-fighting-arena_17475.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p> Holidaymaker tossed and trampled by raging bull after jumping into fighting arena<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s2-prod.mirror.co.uk\/@trinitymirrordigital\/chameleon-branding\/publications\/dailystar\/img\/logo-schema-dailystar.png\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But that is not strong enough, RSPCA Cymru has warned.<\/p>\n<p> A spokesman said: \u201cThe RSPCA is appalled that some people take pleasure from cruelly and deliberately targeting animals in this way. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cSadly, these types of incidents are not uncommon.
