A group of flatmates who were gutted at not being allowed a dog were given a huge surprise after they wrote to a neighbour asking to hang out with their pup.<\/p>\n
Jack McCrossan, from Scotland, and his three flatmates, were rendered heartbroken when their landlord informed them that they weren't allowed to have any pets.<\/p>\n
The four of them adore animals, and having had pets all their lives, they were beginning to struggle until they composed the brilliant plan of asking if they could walk their neighbour's dog.<\/p>\n

In a well-written letter, the boys said: \u201cWe are four engineers that have recently moved into the area in the past 3-4months.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
\u201cOur house is a comprised of an Englishman, two Scotts and a Welshman. Diversity.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe other day, we noticed a four-legged friend looking at us out the window when we arrived home from work.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe or she looked like the goodest boy or girl there is.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you ever need someone to walk him or her, we will gladly do so.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you ever get bored – we know you never will, but we can dream – we are more than happy to look after him or her.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you want to come over and bring him or her to brighten up our day, you are more than welcome.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you want to walk past our balcony windows so we can see him or her, please do.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope this doesn\u2019t come on too strong, but our landlord won\u2019t allow pets, and we\u2019ve all grown up with animals.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe adult life is a struggle without one.\u201d<\/p>\n
To top of the letter, the lads signed it with: "The boys from number 23.\u201d<\/p>\n
Over the next couple of days, the boys waited anxiously, praying that the dog would reciprocate their enthusiasm for a friendship.<\/p>\n
And as it turns out, Stevie Ticks, the Sheprador, responded, informing the lads that she'd love to go on a walk with them.<\/p>\n
He wrote back: \u201cWhat a treat it was to receive your letter!<\/p>\n
\u201cOn the subject of treats, I like them a LOT.<\/p>\n
\u201cBig ones and meaty ones and cheesy ones\u2026 oh sorry\u2026 where was I?\u201d<\/p>\n

In a testament to her honesty, the Labrador German Shepherd mix, who is two years and four months, opened up to the boys about her life.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cI come from Cyrpus originally, but Chris and Sarah rescue me from a cage in the doggy hotel.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou\u2019re right that I am the best girl – how did you know?<\/p>\n
\u201cI am very friendly and full of beans.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love meeting new people, and it would be great if we could be friends.<\/p>\n
Positively buzzing at the news, Jack tweeted: \u201cBeen saying we\u2019d love a dog about the house, but our landlord doesn\u2019t allow pets, so my housemate posted a letter to our neighbour asking if we could walk their dog every once and a while and the response was better than we could have ever hoped for.\u201d<\/p>\n
However, in order to earn Stevie's love, there's one task the boys had to fulfil.<\/p>\n
She continued: "I must warn you that the price of my friendship is 5x ball throws a day and belly scratches whenever I demand them.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe here understand how hard it is to find pet-friendly rentals, and life just isn\u2019t full without a dog in it – right?!<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d love to hand out whenever you fancy.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, Stevie met the lads and had a wonderful time, filled with love, laughs, and, of course, lots of ball throwing.<\/p>\n
And unsurprisingly, their story captured the hearts of the nation.<\/p>\n
A grandmother tweeted: "You boys are making the grandma cry.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat an innovative way to have canine companionship.<\/p>\n
While another posted: "The young kids next door to us proved to their parents that they would responsibly care for a dog by coming to walk and feed ours.\u201d<\/p>\n
Other people, touched by the story, replied with pictures of their dogs, with one person writing: \u201cMy boy says you can always come walk him or play with him.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe loves friends.\u201d<\/p>\n
