She said migration was an international crisis that requires a \u201cglobal solution\u201d while speaking to\u00a0Lee Anderson, the Conservative Party deputy chairman, on GB News.<\/p>\n
Ms Braverman\u00a0said:\u00a0\u201cWhether it is New York City, whether it is the border with Texas, whether it is Italy, whether it is the Channel, we need to look again at whether these international rules are fit for purpose.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd what I said in my speech is that there is a lot at stake. There is democratic legitimacy which is at stake.<\/p>\n

More info<\/p>\n He defended the broadcaster\u2019s practice of getting Conservative MPs who are being paid to host shows to have discussions with their colleagues in Government.<\/p>\n With four serving Tory MPs on its bankroll, GB News has been coming under increasing scrutiny from Ofcom over the practice and has once been found to have breached the rules.<\/p>\n Mr Frangopoulos insisted the MPs\u2019 work is \u201cabsolutely permitted under the Ofcom rules\u201d, arguing that none of them host \u201ca news bulletin-based programme\u201d.<\/p>\n He added: \u201cIf that changes in the future then obviously we\u2019ll look at it.\u201d<\/p>\n Mr Anderson receives \u00a3100,000-a-year for his show on top of his \u00a386,584 MP\u2019s salary.<\/p>\n Ofcom chief executive Dame Melanie Dawes has said that the interview with Ms Braverman would comply with its rules as long as the \u201coverall show \u2026 preserves due impartiality\u201d.<\/p>\n Earlier this month, Ofcom found that an interview with Chancellor Jeremy Hunt by married Tory MPs Esther McVey and Philip Davies broke due impartiality rules.<\/p>\n
