The West might be “losing its nerve” to fight a “long war” in Ukraine, a military blogger has claimed after Putin\u2019s general said Russia is ready to fight for years longer.<\/p>\n
It comes as Volodymyr Zelenskyy\u00a0<\/b>continues his ardent work around the world to rally ongoing support for his troops following recent successes in its counteroffensive using Western weaponry.<\/p>\n
Less than two weeks ago, Sir Tony Radakin said Vladimir Putin has “lost control of the war” following the devastation of his Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol using British-made missiles. Ukraine has also continued to take out critical Russian hardware using a series of strikes using US-made HIMARS missiles.<\/p>\n
Last month Washington announced a new security assistance package for Ukraine, providing $325million worth of military equipment.<\/p>\n
However, journalist and military blogger David Axe claimed in the Telegraph that some cracks are starting to show in Ukraine\u2019s capability to fight for a sustained period of time.<\/p>\n
At the end of last month, Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said its invasion could last until 2025.<\/p>\n

To preserve Ukraine\u2019s independence and deter further Russian aggression, that must change. Ukraine\u2019s allies must do more, faster \u2013 and brace for a conflict that could grind on for years.”<\/p>\n He claims one of the main issues Ukraine might have with fighting a long war revolves around its allies failing to mobilise “nearly to the extent Russia is”.<\/p>\n He writes: “Yes, the United States, Germany, France and other Nato countries are expanding production of artillery shells in order to keep Ukrainian batteries firing.<\/p>\n “But where is the new tank assembly line? More info<\/p>\n Ukraine has so far received more than 800 battle tanks from its Western partners.<\/p>\n These include Leopard 1A5s and Leopard 2A4s, which German Chancellor Scholz agreed to send following massive pressure from Zelensky and his other allies. But Mr Axe notes these tanks are from the 1980s.<\/p>\n Germany is also sending 2A6s from the 1990s but is yet to offer any of its latest Leopard 2A7s.<\/p>\n The blogger also acknowledged that Britain is sending Challenger 2 tanks as it upgrades the military with new Challenger 3s.<\/p>\n He also notes that Ukraine hasn\u2019t got any factories producing new tanks while Russia\u2019s main tank producer of the T-80 has said it will continue producing tanks.<\/p>\n He also claims another “ominous” sign is the “absence of a unified political front”, acknowledging the abundance of Russian apologist Republicans who currently control the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n According to a poll by Fox News, 56 percent of Republicans said assistance to Ukraine should be decreased.<\/p>\n Ukraine, however, continues to receive massive support from a number of its allies, including the UK.<\/p>\n Just over a week ago Grant Shapps promised more support for President Zelensky, including “more training and production” of military hardware for the warring nation.<\/p>\n He also called on more British defence firms to develop factories in Ukraine to improve Ukraine’s access to weapons.<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/cdn.images.express.co.uk\/img\/dynamic\/78\/590x\/secondary\/Ukraine-5003059.jpg?r=1696878153287\")
