    Three teenagers have been killed and two more are fighting for their lives after a dreadful head-on smash involving a bus and an Audi A1.<\/p>\n

    Five people were rushed to hospital following last night\u2019s accident in Coedely, near Tonyrefail, in South Wales.<\/p>\n

    Cops have now confirmed that three men \u2013 one aged 19 and the other two 18 \u2013 were killed, while two others are in hospital with \u201clife-threatening\u201d injuries. Those two men are aged 18 and 19.<\/p>\n

    In a statement issued this morning, police said: \u201cAt around 7pm last night, Monday 11th December, emergency services were called to the scene of a serious road traffic collision involving a bus and an Audi A1 on Ely Valley Road, Coedely.<\/p>\n

    "Three men \u2013 two aged 18 and one aged 19 \u2013 were declared dead at the scene. Two further men, aged 18 and 19, were taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, with life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n

    \u201cTwo other people were also treated for minor injuries. The road has remained closed while investigations into the collision continue.\u201d<\/p>\n

    The ambulance service confirmed that the horrific incident involved a head-on collision.<\/p>\n

    The road, which is near a caravan park, remained closed this morning as officers continued to investigate the scene.<\/p>\n

    Alex Davies-Jones MP said on Facebook: \u201cUtterly devastating news coming from our community this morning. All of my thoughts are with the families and loved ones affected by this tragedy.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Local councillor Danny Grehan told the BBC that it was his understanding the victims were local lads, and he added: \u201cThis is going to hit the area very hard.\u201d<\/p>\n

    <\/p>\n

    Supt Esyr Jones, of South Wales Police, said: \u201cOur thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragic incident. Trained family liaison officers are supporting the families at what must be an extremely difficult time for them.\u201d<\/p>\n
