Her aunt, Jenna Braithwaite, expressed the family&apos;s devastation, saying: &quot;Words can&apos;t even, we can&apos;t even say the words about how devastated our family are, we&apos;ve only just recently lost my Nana. <\/p>\n<p><b>READ MORE: Lidl robber &apos;pours petrol on supermarket worker&apos; in front of terrified Christmas shoppers<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&quot;With it being so close to Christmas as well, it&apos;s a time for celebration and it sucks all the Christmas spirit out of you.&quot; <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article31703849.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/0_THP2377JPG.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Layla had started college and was taking the contraceptive pill to help with painful menstrual cycles. She began experiencing headaches and vomiting within 10 days of starting the medication.<\/p>\n<p>Jenna said: &quot;On the Sunday night (December 10), she was being sick, a lot. She was basically vomiting every 30 minutes. On the Monday morning, they took her to the GP. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;Even though she was being sick the whole time she was at the GP, they gave her anti-sickness tablets and told her that they thought it was a stomach bug. They said there were no red flags to go to the hospital, [but] to go on Wednesday if it continued.&quot;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article31703846.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s615b\/0_YOR_Layla-Khan-02jfif.jpg\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<figure data-mod=\"image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk\/incoming\/article31703055.ece\/ALTERNATES\/s458\/0_MAINussian-war-machines-compared-to-dog-car-from-Dumb-and-Dumber.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<p> Russian war machines mocked for looking like Mutt Cutts van from Dumb and Dumber<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/s2-prod.mirror.co.uk\/@trinitymirrordigital\/chameleon-branding\/publications\/dailystar\/img\/logo-schema-dailystar.png\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>However, Layla started screaming in pain that same Monday evening. She said the pain was &quot;all over&quot;. Jenna and Layla&apos;s mum decided to rush her to the hospital, but she collapsed in the bathroom and they had to carry her to the car. <\/p>\n<p>She became increasingly unresponsive. At the Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, a CT scan revealed a blood clot in her brain. Layla underwent surgery at Hull Royal, but was later pronounced brain dead.<\/p>\n<p>Jenna added: &quot;The fact that they said there were no red flags and then a day later she&apos;s brain dead, it&apos;s incomprehensible. It&apos;s just such a shock. The family&apos;s absolutely devastated.&quot; <\/p>\n<p>Layla&apos;s family made the brave decision to donate her organs. She was beautiful and intelligent, loved and cherished by so many people, and had her whole life ahead of her.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The family is absolutely devastated, and we would like to help raise as much as possible to help with funeral costs to give Layla the best send-off possible, like she deserves. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;She was the oldest child and princess of the family, and she deserves the best because she was the best.
