Denver weather: Near-record-breaking temps, heat advisory expected

Another hot day is expected in Denver Tuesday with near-record-breaking high and low temperatures.

Denver’s temperatures are expected to be slightly cooler than Monday; the high is 96 degrees, two degrees away from the daily record, and the low is 67 degrees, also two degrees from the record.

The metro area is also under another heat advisory from noon until 8 p.m.

Some afternoon clouds and isolated thunderstorms are expected over the mountains, but forecasters at the National Weather Service in Boulder said this may not have any effect on the plains.

Any rain in the foothills in the late afternoon or evening could give some cooler air to drop evening temperatures.

The northeast plains will be near 100 degrees Tuesday, and a red flag warning is still in effect near the Kansas border.
