Met Office issues heat warning as Britain braces for a scorching 7-day heatwave

Britain has been issued a 7-day hot weather warning by the Met Office today as soaring temperatures are expected to reach the mid or high-20s in many parts.

The alert, which activates at 2.00 pm today until 9.00 pm on September 10 warns of an “increased risk of mortality among vulnerable individuals” over the period.

The heatwave is expected to affect the East Midlands, West Midlands, North West, South East, South West, East of England, London, Yorkshire and the Humber.
