Brave men carry 300lb crocodile on their shoulders after removing it from pond

India: Dogs eat in front of a crocodile on a river bank

Footage has emerged of two men carrying a 300lb crocodile over their shoulders – after removing the dangerous animal from a man’s pond.

Residents of Anora, a village in Lalitpur District, Uttar Pradesh State, India, were stunned when they first spotted the huge reptile.

They reportedly found it in a pond belonging to a local man, identified as Azad Singh Thakur, with children playing nearby.

A brave group of locals later managed to capture the reptile, tying its powerful jaws shut with a rope.

Then, two men identified only as Sohan and Sanju, took it in turns to carry the heavy crocodile away from the village.

Footage shows just how big and bulky the reptile is, hoisted across one of the men’s strong shoulders – while the other person carries the tail.

Other people can be seen walking just a few feet away, seemingly unfazed by the strange situation – and are even heard chuckling at one point.

At the end of the clip, the tied-up crocodile tries to wriggle free but its rescuer somehow manages to keep hold of it.The duo carry the reptile for 300m before loading it onto a vehicle.

The animal was then driven to a nearby dam and set free in the river.

Locals called the Lalitpur Forest Department shortly after spotting the croc. But by the time officials arrived on the scene, the reptile had already been safely removed from the village.

“Two villagers Sohan and Sanju carried the crocodile on their shoulders to a distance of 300 metres from the pond after tying its mouth with a rope,” said The Forest Department.

“After this, the mouth of the crocodile was untied and was taken to Sajnam Dam with the help of a pickup vehicle.”
